Oxford University has terminated its contract with Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), the provider for its admission tests, less than a year after entering into the partnership. The decision comes in the wake of technical glitches reported by candidates, test centers, and parents. The university had enlisted TCS to replace the Cambridge Admissions Assessment Testing (CAAT) for technical services related to admission tests.

Responding to concerns raised during this year's online admission tests, the university stated in an email to HT's sister website that TCS would no longer be involved in the delivery of Oxford admissions tests. The decision was made after careful consideration of the issues and feedback from candidates, teachers, and test centers.

Oxford University, renowned for its emphasis on research, innovation, and interdisciplinary studies, attracts thousands of students annually seeking admission to its prestigious institution. The administration assured that details of the new arrangement for tests will be communicated at the beginning of the next admissions round. Prominent figures, including Indira Gandhi, Amitav Ghosh, Dr. Manmohan Singh, Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi, and Vikram Seth, are among those who have studied at Oxford University.
